I have always thought that waxing should be left to the professionals. The very idea of waxing myself was just scary. But then I found out that I was going on a last minute trip to Florida. The good news was that I was escaping the cold. The bad news, I didn't have time to get waxed, and Nair and I do NOT get along.
Throwing caution to the wind, I ran to the closest Sephora and bought Bliss's Poetic Waxing Kit and Ingrown Hair Eliminating Pads.
The instruction manual was extremely clear, with step by step instructions, pictures, and tips. The pre wax cleanser and pre/post wax oil felt really nice against my skin. The wax took a while to heat up, but once it did it spread really nicely and evenly everywhere I put it. Sure, waxing is waxing, and even though this is hard wax, it was still painful. But less painful than most waxes that I've gotten, including Sugar Waxing. It was also MUCH more efficient. Everything came off, with no need to tweeze afterwards. My skin was smooth and hairless. All this in the privacy of my bathroom.
The next day, as a precaution, I started using the Ingrown Eliminating Pads. While the pads did sting a bit (I am very very sensitive) they did exactly what the name implies. I had NO red bumps anywhere. And No ingrowns.
My fear of home waxing has been conquered. Sure, if I have the time I would definitely go to a professional (at Bliss of course, since I love the wax), after all, inflicting pain on myself is not something I'm into....but in a pinch - this worked great, and I would definitely do it again.
